Frequently Asked Questions

Our driving instructors are trained to teach you theory and practical, ensuring that you receive the best tuition possible. At the end of each driving lesson, you and your driving instructor will recap what you learnt and set an objective of what you will learn during the next lesson. They may also give you something to work on before your next lesson.

BigG driving school recommends 2 hours long per lesson, even though considerations can be given for 1.5 hours. This allows for more practice and repetition, and you are more likely to make quicker progress by putting your experiences into practice and passing your test in very little time, saving you a lot of money. The shorter lessons you take, the longer it will take you to be test ready, and it will cost you more money.

Suppose you are a beginner and have never driven a car before. In that case, research from the DVSA (Driving Standards Agency) has shown that, on average, a minimum of 45 hours of tuition with a driving instructor is required to pass your practical test.

Another research shows that for every individual, you need about 1.5 multiplied by your entire age to learn to drive. However, this is only an average. Everyone is different in how quickly they progress. So you may need less, or you may need more. After the first couple of lessons, the instructor will give you their professional opinion on how many driving lessons you may need to pass your practical driving test.

Pass Plus lessons:- Pass Plus is an extra training scheme for newly qualified drivers. The DVSA designed this scheme to help learners acquire more skills and be safer drivers. It also helps learners to work on areas they could not develop during their learning process. Other benefits include insurance discounts from insurance companies participating in the scheme. The syllabus covers six modules with a minimum of six (6) hours to complete.
These are:
• In town or Inner city driving
• Out-of-town and Rural driving
• Nighttime driving
• All Weather Driving
• Dual Carriageways
• Motorway
Once completed, you will receive a certificate from the DVSA. There is no test after completion, as you will be assessed throughout the training.
